Distinctive Unit Insignia


Blazon

A silver metal and epoxy device 1-1/4 inches in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Sable, a pair of lightning flashes in saltire Argent, issuant from base a demi-sphere Gris grid-lined and fimbriated Argent (Silver Gray), overall a key fesswise ward to dexter Or, surmounted by a sword palewise point to chief Proper, in chief five mullets arched chevronwise of the fifth, all within a diminished bordure of the fourth.  Attached below the shield a silver scroll bearing the inscription “ALL DOMAIN” in black.


Symbolism

The shield represents the defense and protection of the 1st Multi-Domain Effects Battalion’s assets and the United States’ interests.  The globe signifies USINDOPACOM AOR, the unit’s far-reaching mission, while the black field alludes to space and the information that travels worldwide.  The five stars denote the five domains of land, air, sea, cyber, and space.  The lightning bolts signify intelligence, electronics, communications, and the speed and accuracy with which operations are performed.  The key suggests the unit’s mission to protect and gain access to information.  The sword symbolizes the courage and justice to swiftly deter and, if necessary, defeat the adversary.   

Motto. The unit’s motto is “ALL DOMAIN.”

The distinctive unit insignia was approved for the 1st Multi-Domain Effects Battalion was approved on 13 February 2024.
